Makerere University Guild student leaders led by the Guild president H.E Ssentamu Churchill James and Prime Minister Nsobya Hannington bid farewell to fallen student Nshuti Balaam Kabaasa.


Nshuti, son to Bruce Kabaasa, a Bachelor of Commerce student who was awaiting graduation was pronounced dead on June 22nd, 2025. Nshuti was found dead at their country home where he had gone to campaign for his father who is running as area MP.


Police postmortem report indicated that the deceased succumbed to poisoning.



During the burial ceremony, the Guild President urged family members to continue with the works that the deceased had started in order to honour his legacy. The burial was attended by different dignitaries including the deputy speaker of parliament Hon. Thomas Tayebwa.


The Julius Nyerere Leadership Center eulogised the deceased a truly valued alumnus with an Infectious energy and a stream of interesting and provocative ideas.
